REVIEW 7 – Mauritius quarantine hotel reviews
07.01.21 From the first time, when we started the research and wrote ALL the 4-star hotels, they were the first ones to answer to all my questions, and we got so lucky that this great hotel was on the list for our arrival! The communication was perfect from the first time till today. (We are getting calls every 2 days or so to check if we need anything)
Food: super, the presentation was always the TOP! I am so glad we didn’t get the plastic containers not once. Not too much food, so we didn’t waste any. They took care of my every need food-wise, so ask them, I am sure they will do their best to accommodate everyone’s requests! We had three litres of water a day per person.
Staff: Every one of them is so kind, courteous, and I feel so lucky to get such a great service! Will never forget them!
Room: 10/10, comfortable bed, spacious room, work desk, good shower, Nespresso coffee machine. We got a downstairs room, so we had space to walk around the little garden in front of us, which is also something useful when you cannot go anywhere. Bird-feeding was our favourite activity.
Internet: If you need internet for heavy work, consider getting yourself a sim card ( Emtel, 1 day unlimited and fast 4G is 12 rupees per day), we were lucky enough to get one from our future landlady, so didn’t complain to the management, as we barely used the hotel’s Wi-Fi after that. Otherwise streaming like Netflix and Skype calls will be OK
Check-in, PCR tests, temperature checks are all went smoothly. Yes, I would recommend this hotel to anyone with all my heart! Thank you for having us, Veranda Pointe aux Biches. Contributor Gyongyi Csoban
19.12.20 Small post from almost the end of quarantine! I would just like to say good things about this hotel, its really, but really, attentive staff; the management, and Julio, our multi-function receptionist who is extraordinary. A few small worries sometimes at the level of allergies but which were very quickly taken care of in the best conditions. I was impressed with the benevolence of everyone here, asking if everything is going well if we slept well if our morale is good if I need something if I want to talk! For all this: simply thank you. Thank you from the heart. Thank you for making these long days easier to spend, for making us laugh sometimes and for joking. To bring me all that ray of sunshine at the right time. For all that … really … thank you.

Merci d’avoir été aux petits soins avec ma fille et d’avoir organisé pleins de petites surprises pour qu’elle fête ses 20 ans d’une manière inhabituelle Je recommande vivement cet établissement qui réussit à rendre cette période de quarantaine obligatoire beaucoup plus humaine tant au niveau du service qu’au niveau de la nourriture Contributor Nathalie Michel
07.11.20 Je recommande vivement l’hôtel Véranda Pointe Aux Biches pour les raisons suivantes:-Aucun faux pas sur l’organisation depuis mon arrivée il y a 6 jours: la nourriture est excellente et les plats toujours très bien présentés (cf photos); l’hôtel est parfaitement adapté pour les personnes souhaitant télétravailler: j’ai pu avoir une table et une chaise (à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur) et la connexion Wi-Fi est très bonne et sans coupure (permet les visioconférences sans soucis); l’equipe s’est tout de suite rendue disponible pour mes demandes spécifiques, prêt d’un tapis de sport ou livraison d’un ordi depuis l‘extérieur, et enfin, le cadre est super, on a tout un tas de beaux asks pour nous tenir compagnie en terrasse. 04.11.20 When we got to the hotel, there was a bit of a queue to check-in. We asked if we could check in first or soon as we have a hungry and tired baby. The staff said yes immediately. It took a bit of time to get to our room and luggage etc but appreciate that the staff were doing their best – it must be pretty overwhelming to have 80 people arrive at once. I was just a little frustrated because I wanted to get the baby fed and down for a nap. Anyway, we asked for a family room. The room itself is pretty decent for a 4 star, it is spacious and has a second room with a bunk bed, but they put a cot for baby. A baby bath and high chair were already in the room when we arrived. There was also a box with some toys, plate, sippy cup and bib, which we thought was a nice touch.
The bed is very comfortable. There is a little terrace outside and a bit of garden just off the terrace from which we have a nice view of the beach. All in all, the staff has been really nice and helpful, doing all they can to meet our needs and requests. Special thanks to Ian at reception, and Hans and the chef from the restaurant who have been so accommodating with my ceaseless and exacting baby food requests. Full credit to the staff also for enforcing the restrictions sensibly, and for not being officious and overbearing in doing so. Per the previous reviews, the food has been amazing, presentation, quality, variety all top-notch. We debated whether to go for a 5-star but decided it was not worth the money to be stuck in a room and not be able to use the hotel facilities, etc. We are glad we did so, judging by some other reviews and our experience so far. 31.10.20 Hello Everyone, I normally don’t go around posting anything online. Well, I guess one cannot post only to vent but also to express GRATITUDE and to RECOGNIZE… The idea of being HOME but yet closed up in a room can be scary, frustrating and boring (from all we read on reviews). Some may say this was quarantine, but I would say it felt like HOLIDAY/VACATION/BREAK; all thanks to the amazing service and management at VERANDA RESORT OF POINTE AUX BICHES.
Even though I was in a room for 14 days and not being able to get to ‘normal’ life routine or enjoy the hotel facilities (pool/bar/ sea etc) I had a great experience and I did not feel my days lagging. Not to forget the staff members are away from their family to serve us; quarantine for them You guys did an awesome job since DAY 1. Nothing has been overlooked and you guys went beyond my expectations..
5 STARS *The room was perfect* Amazing, heartwarming and helpful staff* Delicious meals every day, always well presented. Keep it up..!!! I would totally recommend Veranda Pointe aux Biches THANK YOU for making this phase easy and bearable…!!! Contributor Kate Thomas
29.10.20 Chapeau a toute l’equipe de Veranda Hotel – Pointe aux Biches’ Tout etait parfait de l’acceuil jusqu’au depart.Merci beacoup a Ian et Julio Etablissement très agréable, répondant parfaitement aux demandes de la quarantaine et une équipe sympathique et serieuse – rien à redire* Jolie chambre / confortable avec terrase vue sur jardin / très propre et bien equipée pour passer sa quarantaine* Choix de menu – excellent / grand choix de mets et mesures d’hygiene sanitaire très bien respectées * Je conseille fortement * Je reviendrais surement pour des vacances A bientot.
