16.11.20 Hello, I’m actually at Gold Beach Resort, the bedrooms are simple but spacious. You have a balcony, and I got a room with a sea view really nice, the food is good, not excellent but we don’t ask it for a 3-star hotel, Wi-Fi works really good and staff is nice, the only problem I encountered is the lack of household linen but as the moment I asked it to them, they solved it really rapidly. Summary: Gold Beach is really simple and calm, not very lux but it’s a good small hotel. Contributor Olivier Thierry
13.11.20 Finally, the day of freedom is here. Time to say our goodbyes and be free again. As hard as it has been for everyone, some people had great quarantine, while others been complaining about the food a lot, for instance, me. I was able to find a proper routine, which made my life easy during the quarantine. I had my resistance tubes with me. I have to say a few words of gratitude to the hotel staff: Kumar& Wendy and the rest of the team, followed by the medical team. I know you guys have been away from home too and it has been hard on you too. And for this, I say thank you and I appreciate your hard work. We had our differences, clearly not your fault but totally coming from somewhere else, which I will resolve later, not for me but for all the others coming after me. The countdown is down. Hope we get out of here as early as possible, Happy Divali.
01.11.20 Today was cleaning day. A pan brush and detergents were placed in the bathroom. Room was pretty dusty. The good thing is, I have enough space to move around. Only three meals are given and very small portions. It keeps you hanging until the next meal. Taste-wise, the food is not bad at all. Spare bed sheets, towels are not provided. A kettle is provided in the room, though you get 2 tea/2Coffee packets only in the morning with creamer. No provision for midday snacks. You are provided with 2.5 litres of water. Everything is packed in plastic containers. No real plates provided.
02.11.20 Lunch and dinner was given in a very decent proportion and I will have to admit it tastes good. They heard my plea, Wendy and Kumar heard my cries of despair and are trying their best to help. A nice plate and proper cutlery was provided and to top it all a magnificent view. It’s only day two.
31.10.20 Today marks the first day of quarantine in Gold Beach. Arrival procedures were very quick. We waited for ages though to depart to the hotel with a partially full bus and some people not adhering to the wearing of masks. Arriving into Gold Beach, we were given a briefing allocation of rooms while being in the garden area. Once you get your room number, you pick up your bag and head to your room. There are a few staff members around to help you with your bags. As soon as we got to the rooms, we were served dinner. We have a veg and non-veg option until J-12. The rooms are pretty alright, nothing too fancy considering it’s a 3* but at least I got a sea view and a balcony. Contributor Vicky Ramasseur
04.11.20 I just learnt that the hotel staff, doctor and nurse all are staying with us during this quarantine period. They are also not allowed to meet people outside. They also have to do the PCR test after 7 and 14 days. I think this is a huge sacrifice that they are all doing and the Ministry of Health is doing a lot to contain the virus! So a HUGE THANK YOU to them! Especially at Gold Beach (Wendy, Ramay), they have been so warm, friendly, accommodating and truly making our experience worthwhile. Contributor Hanaa Mhossen
03.11.20 Frankly, I am not active on Social Media, however, today I would like to share my views on Gold Beach Resort & Spa. I would happily recommend Gold Beach (Flic en Flac) without any hesitation.
Resort location and condition of the room: Wow! What a location. It’s 05:02 am, I can hear the waves from my room, it is very relaxing. I love it. The room is equipped with a huge TV, fridge, a king-size bed, air conditioning, hot water in bathroom and sink, relaxing chair and a tea/dining table (cute for one person). The room has two windows opening; I don’t feel suffocated at all. And the cleanliness level is also amazing. Washroom and room are spotless and spacious. Also 24hrs Wi-Fi.
Firstly, Mr Kumar, thank you, Sir. Thank you for your hospitality and thank you for being there for us. You are doing a fabulous job.
Staff: Very helpful staff, excellent teamwork. Always wear masks and proper protective outfits. Good communication skills. Even the medic people who record my temperature two times a day are lovely people as well. Thanks to Mr Rama as well for knocking on my door every morning to collect bin. They have provided a mobile number since the first night I have stepped foot in the resort for services.
Food: 14 days, meals planned, printed and handed over to me/us on the first night. Breakfast: There is a typical Mauritian style breakfast and on-demand system. You must fill a form to disclose any allergies and can also add requests for meals. They are trying their best to satisfy customers. Hats off. Thank you guys. Lunch/Dinner: I had a complaint on the night I came in the food portion was inadequate; I also admit that they had to standardise the portion to avoid food wastage. I did voice out and, to my great surprise, the matter was dealt with straight away and a second portion served. Since then I am served a revised portion and I have no complaint at all.
Flexibility is key here, I love it, we just have to voice out and that’s it.
NOTE: The taste and quality of food served in Gold Beach is just unbelievable, mind-blowing, so tasty….. Merci Chef! So yummy: Lamb curry, OMG, fried spaghetti with eggs and chicken. Ouf: lentils/dhol potatoes (I don’t know how it was cooked, too good, too good). I am more than satisfied with the food, delicious!!
I am a very meticulous person. This is my true and genuine feedback regarding Gold Beach Resort & Spa. Highly Recommended. Thank you to the team of Gold Beach for making me feel at home. Contributor Akash Latcheman
